About Halfgaar
So, who is this Halfgaar? In real life, I go by the name of Wiebe Cazemier. I reside in a relatively small village in the north of The Netherlands. What defines me as in individual is kind of hard to explain. As you explore my website you will probably surmise that I am interested in various technical subjects, about which you would be correct. However, there is more to me than that, of course.
My health is very important to me. To keep myself in shape, I like to practice wushu and hung ga. They are excellent ways to train your entire body, and bodily control. The downside is, however, that wushu can be a bit hard on your body. Besides exercise, I also consider my diet to be very important. It is unfortunate that a lot of people don't share this opinion; a fact all to obvious when looking at what the average person carries around in his or her shopping cart at the supermarket...
In summer time, you can frequently find me at the lake. In addition to swimming, I also enjoy passivity for its own value. For example, one of my favorite pass times is lazily lying in the sun. Unfortunately, our culture perpetuates a fear of doing nothing, which is detrimental to our existence, if you ask me. It is when you do nothing when your greatest ideas come to mind. You can read about Omega, a scientific theory about the development of human behavior, if you are interested in learing more (warning: long read...). And as you may have guessed, I indeed also have an interest in philosophical exploration.
There is still more, but this site is not my life's almanac, so I'll leave it at this. I guess I can finish with some pictures. These two are shot in May 2008, courtesy of Jeroen Dekker.
